  • Swift’s 2018 ‘Reputation’ Stadium Tour is officially the highest-grossing tour in U.S. history, grossing $266.1 million.
  • In 2018 the singer left Big Machine Records, her musical home since starting out as a teenager, for Universal’s Republic Records.
  • As part of the deal, Universal is required to share proceeds from the eventual sale of its $1 billion stake in Spotify with its musicians.
  • Her first single since the move, “ME!” debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and racked up a record-breaking 100 million Vevo views in 79 hours.
  • Swift has leveraged her fame to encourage voting, with 65,000 registrations in the 24 hours after she urged fans to vote in the November mid-terms.  

2. Kylie Jenner

  • At 21, celebrity-turned-makeup mogul Kylie Jenner is the youngest self-made billionaire ever.
  • Jenner, who started out peddling $29 lip kits in 2015, sold an estimated $360 million worth of Kylie Cosmetics in 2018.
  • In November 2018, Jenner launched a distribution deal with beauty retailer Ulta and sold an estimated $55 million of product in just 6 weeks.
  • In May 2019 she announced the launch of her vegan Kylie Skin line. She recently filed a trademark for a possible baby line.
  • Thanks to its super low overhead and massive sales, the company is worth at least $900 million. Jenner owns a 100% stake.
  • Jenner used $250,000 of her earnings from modeling gigs to pay an outside company to produce her first 15,000 lip kits.

3. Kanye West

  • A majority of West’s pay comes from his Yeezy sneakers in partnership with Adidas, which pays him a per-shoe royalty of 15% on wholesale.
  • Yeezy has done an estimated $1 billion in sales over the past 12 months.
  • Separately, West also cashes in on his Yeezy apparel line. He owns his brands outright.
  • West’s Sunday Service, an invitation-only confab mostly in Southern California, has reportedly drawn the likes of Katy Perry and Dave Chappelle.

  • Since his Barcelona debut in 2003, Messi has played 687 matches for his club, scored 603 goals, and won 33 club titles, including 10 La Liga titles.
  • His current Barcelona contract is through 2020-21 and pays him over $80 million annually. He also has a lifelong deal with Adidas.
  • He has been awarded FIFA’s Player of the Year five times and won the European Golden Shoe for top scorer on the continent a record six times.
  • In 2016, he was convicted of tax fraud in Spain for avoiding income tax between 2007 and 2009. His 21-month sentence was cut to a $250,000 fine.

5. Ed Sheeran

  • The record follows Sheeran’s 2017 album ‘Divide,’ which earned the Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album in 2018.

6. Cristiano Ronaldo

  • Ronaldo joined Juventus in 2018 after nine years with Real Madrid. He took a pay cut with his four-year deal worth $64 million annually.

  • He has won FIFA’s Player of the Year five times and is the all-time leading goal scorer in the UEFA Champions League.
  • The Portuguese star is the most followed athlete on social media with nearly 400 million total followers.
  • In January, Ronaldo agreed to a $21 million fine for tax evasion between 2010 and 2014.

7. Neymar

  • Neymar is on a five-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain through June 2022 worth $350 million in salary.
  • His transfer from Barcelona to PSG stands as the most expensive in the world at $263 million, which the French club paid in full ahead of his signing.
  • The Brazilian is the second most popular athlete on social media with more than 200 million followers on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
  • Neymar was found guilty of avoiding taxes between 2011 and 2013 and paid a $1.2 million fine in 2016.
  • Neymar lost Brazil’s national team captaincy after a hitting a fan in the stands after PSG’s loss in the French Cup.

  • A protégé of Oprah protege, Dr. Phil boasts one of the most-watched syndicated talk shows on television.
  • McGraw earns an upfront fee from the gabfest, as well as a percentage of advertising revenue and cash from product placement.
  • In addition to doling out advice on his show since 2002, he is an executive producer, putting his name on ‘The Bull’ and ‘The Doctors.’
  • Though he is not a practicing doctor, McGraw cofounded the app Doctors on Demand, worth $300 million.

10. Canelo Alvarez

  • Streaming service DAZN committed $365 million in 2018 to lock up the next 11 fights of boxing’s biggest pay-per-view star.
  • Alvarez pocketed roughly $50 million combined for his first two fights on DAZN but should earn at least $35 million per fight in the future.
  • Boxing fans are clamoring for a third showdown between Canelo and Gennady “GGG” Golovkin.
  • Their first fight was declared a draw, and Alvarez narrowly won the second. Both fights generated more than one million PPV buys.
  • The Canelo-GGG fights were the first U.S. boxing matches not involving Mayweather or Pacquiao to register more than one million buys since 2002.
